Sight: Dance Film

Writer: faithhiles9faithhiles9

Taking inspiration from the poem, Sight, enabled me to approach my alopecia in a creative sense for the first time. I won't be the last!

From this self made project, I really understood how dance for camera and use of a narrative/story telling within performance can enhance the outcome and goal for what the creative wants the audience to see. Personally, my view on alopecia is that those who have alopecia feel the need to hide the bald patches to fit in with society and views of identity and appearance. This was me until I accepted my alopecia in 2019. My goal from this project is to shock the audience with and expected "pretty" performance which unravels as a learning, educational performance focusing on the concept... 'Don't judge a book by its cover'.

Edited, Filmed and Performed by Faith Hiles

Poem by Charley Genever and Josh Hawkins.
