Little Lady Locks is a new hair replacement service set up in 2018 and recently commissioned a charity event to raise money for hair instalments for young girls with alopecia/hair loss.
Founder: Ashley-Marie Higgins
Total money raised at the charity event: £4192.25
I was contacted through my Instagram by Little Lady Locks on whether I was available to perform at their event with a live singer on the 16th of April at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester. With the option to be paid or attend the event. I attended and met more inspiring individuals within the alopecia community and hair replacement employment who are new contacts and relationships for future employability, opportunities and potential partners for funded projects in the future.
My performance was surrounded me embracing my hair loss journey and inspiring others to have the confidence in their alopecia and to raise more support for the condition. The performance was also a learning curve in which I now know to expect the un expected or the worst case scenario. To add to, on the evening I was performing the live musician had cancelled and the technical team did not have the musicians track to play while I perform. From the last minute changes, I had to improvise and perform to the audience as I was now the only one performing within the song.
